A local nonprofit with an international footprint is designing and preparing to build its first project in Kansas City, expanding its footprint to address a particularly vulnerable subsection of the area’s homeless population — unaccompanied teenagers and young adults. The HALO Foundation plans a second learning center and homes for homeless and at-risk youth as phase one of a 24-acre Halo Village campus in southeast Kansas City.
